JCJF (also known as South Bohemia Jazz Festival) takes place each year in Budweis, Czech Republic. Throughout its existence it hosted jazz names such as Richard Bona, Dave Douglas, Avishai Cohen, Eddie Palmieri and many others. Most of the time the festival had one, typically very dark (photo on a black background) and simple poster for the whole event. In 2021 I had a chance to design the whole visual concept and to change the direction. The goal was to brighten up the poster and make it more colourful, playfull and unpredictable containing both straight lines and uneven elements, because unpredictactability and playfulness are one of the essentials of jazz. Also it was the first time not only main act got own visual content – each artist at the festival had own serie of graphical content as well as introductions on a stage LED screen. By the end of the event 50 different pieces of visual content were tailored for the festival.
